Nakamura is half Japanese/half white, if I'm not mistaken. But wholly American, which is why he represents the US. People say he shouldn't represent this country but I think that notion is horseshit.

intimidation and psychology are hugely important factors in chess. I'm sure many Grandmasters get many games handed to them because their opponents are scared shitless. Of course I'm sure even if the opponent isn't scared the GM is going to win most of the time.
