A Death Note amv set to Demon Hunter's "Carry Me Down." This amv is from the alternating viewpoints of Light when his memory is lost of owning the Death Note as well as after. He recalls something that L said to him during that time and how greatly it impacted him; as well as how quickly that changed.

It is inspired by a particular fan fiction I found that is beautifully written, known as "Poison Apple". A combination work between Narroch and RobinRocks. There was one quote in particular that struck me:

"We may each lie in the arms of our nemesis, and yet... right now, we can feel safe." He ran his cool fingertips over Light's chest. "You do see, don't you, Light-kun? Please tell me you do."

"Yeah." Light wrapped his arms around L, so that they were fully and tightly embraced. "Yeah, I see..."

"This is our... Heaven, then, Light-kun?"

Light gave a little snort of laughter.

"Would you call it that?" He asked.

Light felt L shrug in his arms.

"I don't know. I have never seen... Heaven."

"Neither have I." Light rested his chin in the crown of L's head. "I've never died."

"Ah, yes..." L let out a deep breath. "...Light-kun?"

"Yeah?"

"I... would you...? It is merely a hypothetical question, of course, but... I did wonder... if...?"

"If what?"

"If, hypothetically speaking... you would allow me to die in your arms..."

Light gave a tiny, unnerved, and strangely equine laugh.

"That seems a little... Romeo and Juliet, Ryuzaki..."

"Melodramatic?"

"A little."

"Hm." L seemed to consider that for a moment. "But would you?"

"Uh, well... if I happened to be there, I guess so, but... I'd probably be busy trying to call you an ambulance, you know."

"What if there was no time? What if there was no way of saving me?"

"You mean... like Kira?"

"I mean anything. Anything at all. I just want to know."

"Of course, if... if that's what you'd like."

L spent another moment or two considering that.

"Yes, Light-kun," he said finally. "I think... if I had to die, that I would like that."

ANYWAY... There are loads of really cool bits in here! I like how you used footage from Death Note: R as well (like Light's random... I dunno, grave-humping, or whatever the hell he is doing there... O.o). And you kept to the eye theme really well too...

I agree w/you, but apparently he was laughing... That scene really brings it home that he really went around the bend after L died (not that he wasn't already semi-mad before he died...)

Power most often corrupts and that's what got to him in the end. And I really do think L's death upset him moderately as well. Made things more boring for him...for a little while of course.
