  • First off what is Deism? Second while I'm a Christian I find people who preach and try to convert are not doing what Christ called them to do. If you try to force someone into something they'll never do it. Science is not wrong, where people believe it is right to me or what I get offended at is that people preach something that is a theory.

  • @kcsguniverse Theory has an utterly different meaning in science to that of laymans terms. In science a theory is a series of logical constructs that deterministically describe a series of observations.

IE, Gravity is contained within the "General Theory of Relativity", "Germ Theory" is still a "theory" and will never be promoted to fact, even though we treat it as fact.

Theories are not just guesses or conjectures, they are tested explanations of observations.

  • @Ethrock I know what they are, I'm an science major. I just wish they would put more emphasis when teaching this stuff that they are just theories. The way it's taught at least to me, they make it seem like fact. Now I'll give you this a lot of the stuff I'm talking about you use gravity is pretty supported. So if you going to teach it as fact, make it a fact I don't think anyone has a problem with that.

  • @kcsguniverse If you're a science major, and you so severely misunderstand the concept of a theory and why things are labeled theories and not facts, then you need to switch schools.

Theories are methods of explaining observations (aka facts). If they were facts explaining facts, it would be a little senseless, and would prevent them from changing. At some point in the future we may discover a unique facet about gravity as to why it occurs how it does, and a theory can change with it.

  • Tell me one passage in the New testament that is wrong...

  • @Domodeath The burden of proof lies to those making the claim, not to those not accepting it.

  • Easy kid, reason and evidence are things theists have a difficult time with.

For them to understand better you should talk slower and use smaller words. Pictures might help.

  • The greatest evil Satan ever committed was convincing the world that he and God do not exist.

  • @kcsguniverse Christ specifically told us to evangelize.

  • Amen athiest brother

You claim that it takes more faith to believe in evolution than the bible.

Evolution is the very cornerstone of biology - it is the functional theory that explains all of the facts of biology and is accepted by 99.9% of credible archaologists and biologists in the world. So all you really need is faith in the scientific method.

On the other hand, you believe in the unverifiable, drugged-up, possibly plagiarised ramblings of some old Jewish dudes, thousands of years ago. Fail.
