  • It was actually the 18th Bond film, not including the original Casino Royale spoof

  • @bengolious It's actually not, because I am including that, and the other movies you arbitrarily neglect to include.

  • @NecroVMX Short of listing all the previous films it's easier to point out that the makers of Die Another Day included references to some of the other films to celebrate it being the 20th film in the series. If there were other films in the series before Dr. No, I'll admit I'm wrong but Wikipedia and Allmovie.com both say TWINE is number 18.

  • @bengolious DAD was 20th in THEIR series, but they're not the only ones to make bond movies. Check my playlist ,and you'll see all of them reviewed.

  • 9/10.

  • @Pinesol131 And you're stupid, what else is new

  • Agreed. Whatever weaknesses this film has it's confident, polished, entertaining and Brosnan has grown into the role. Also the budget is clearly well spent. The music score is a big asset. Just a shame that the series cast Pryce in a part not really worthy of him. All things considered, it's a surprisingly energetic and effective film for the 18th in the official series.

"Elliot Carver is often compared to Rupert Murdoch."... "Although I doubt the head of FOX is going around doing shit like this."

    ...Does wire tapping count?

  • I dont care what the haters say TND is a great Bond movie

  • As a journalist myself NecroVMX, I liked this movie, a megalomaniacal media baron looking to take over the world.....couldn't ask for more...

  • @NecroVMX "I doubt the head of Fox is doing shit like this" do you want to amend that statement now?

  • @TheDalinkwent it definitely makes sense, its just that some people i've talked to say that its one of the worst and i just never understood why, but everyone has an opinion!

  • @dwswh2, It's simple, everyone thought Goldeneye would suck, so when it was actually good, everyone loved it. Now with expectations high, TND was destined to be bitched about. Personally TND is one of my favorite Bond films, while GE was better, TND is a worthy successor.

  • i've never understood why people don't like this and really have a blast hammering down brosnan and the writers in brosnans last 3 films tho dad i can agree with (though not with brosnan). i think i like the realistic feel of this film like you can believe it could happen because of media being such an important part of the world, paris reminds me of sylivia trench a lot and maybe it would of been gd if it was sylvia and not just some woman that bond had a relationship with. good rate :)

  • 9 idk about that but this is a very good Bond film one of my favorites good villian good plot 7 or 8 I'll give it I like goldeneye better tho

  • I'm relieved to find a positive review of TND. I thought your review was fair-minded and a good assessment of the film. It can be argued that TND is just an expensive, slickly made action film, that also recycles the central plot of YOLT and TSWLM yet again. But it works: it's energised, confident, technically impressive and fun. Brosnan has relaxed into the role and has a ready charisma. I liked Michelle Yeoh. Arnold's score is very effective. I'm not always looking for mult-layers.
