BROKEN: A Love Story is author Lisa Jones' true tale of her friendship with quadriplegic Northern Arapaho horse gentler and traditional healer Stanford Addison. Originally sent to Stanford's home on Wyoming's Wind River Indian Reservation to write a magazine article, Lisa ends up spending about a year in the company of this remarkable man. The resulting book has been called "the most important and beautiful book to come out of the West in a decade" by noted Wyoming author Alexandra Fuller. This youTube features Lisa reading the book's preface over slideshow of photos taken of Stanford, his family, horses and home. The photos were taken by Teresa Neptune and Sarah Kariko.

Thanks for the video. The book is truly amazing, and Stan's story is inspiring as well as humbling. I don't know why, exactly, but after reading the words "I can't save you" on the first page i was hooked.
