"This is a real shock to me because that little girl was such an angel...She always said I love you and good morning. She was just a happy child."

Keayanna Chambers

Keayanna flew away on Friday August 31, 2007
At three years old.

Keayanna or Kiki beheld an unforgettable bright smile and blissful pair of eyes.

Cheerful Loving Happy Healthy
Keayanna was all of those.

She would dance and smile and greet neighbours each day. "She'd say, `Hi. How are you?' The child was always telling her (mother), `I love you mommy,'"

"She was a very bright little girl and very articulate and sociable ... she always asked you how you were," - neighbour

August 31, 2007

The landlord of the apartment Keayanna and her mother had been living in smelled a strong burning odour.

The landlord knocked at the door, but there was no answer.

The landlord and a friend entered the apartment to find it torn apart.
Bloody handprints coated the bathroom.

Hand written bible pages, a photo if Keayanna with her eyes poked out, and cut apart pictures littered the apartment.

The two men then forced Keayanna's mother's bedroom door open. They saw a leg sticking out from the closet and called police.

Keayanna was found in the arms of her mother, hiding in a closet.
Her body had already begun to decompose.

Keayanna's cause of death was listed as pressure to the neck and chest.

She had bay leaves inside her mouth & nose. Melted wax accompanied burns of her hair, face and abdomen.

Keayanna's mother Charlene believed her daughter had been taken over by a bad spirit.

Charlene claimed that at one point Keayanna had growled at her. Leading her to believe the spirit had entered Keayanna.

Charlene took Keayanna into the bathtub and pressed on her stomach. Keayanna apparently spat and continued to growl.

Charlene washed Keayanna's mouth out with water and noticing the red and puffiness of her eyes, she tried to "pull out that puffy stuff."

Charlene Chambers was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was found not criminally responsible.

"It's just such a shock because she is such a happy girl. You'd never think that she would be in danger."

In Loving Memory
Of a happy, joyful, smiley, bright little angel

Keayanna Chambers
Your smiles and sweetness will never be forgotten.

"She was a very, very sweet and pleasant kid...
"Hello," she would say. "What are you doing? Can I help you?" - neighbor

  • The mother, even though she was sick, should have sought help. I remember being in the energency room, one time, and a man with schizophrenia came in, asking to see the doctor, because he was hearing voices, telling him to kill cats. At least that man had sense enough to get help, instead of killing cats.

  • WTF...you can NOT tell me that someone did NOT know of the schizophrenia!?????Dear God in heaven...so sad! .✿ڿڰۣ--ڿڰ Rip Keayanna .✿ڿڰۣ--ڿڰ

  • tell me now tell me now where does that animal live please please please

  • To kill your daughter who constantly says "I love you mommy". Sad.

  • 1-800-choke that hoe

  • They also should look further into cases like this where it may not even be schizophrenia but rather drugs. I've noticed people on crack cocaine or meth act very similar to people with schizophrenia when they are off their meds.

  • I also want to add that people living with schizophrenia are perfectly capable of living a normal, healthy life so long as they take care of themselves and remember to take their medication and talk to a professional on a regular basis. It's the same as living with any other illness.

  • My grandmother has schizophrenia and she was and is as good a mother as she could or can be to all her daughters despite her mental illness. Thankfully she seeked professional help in time before a tragedy like this occurred because her sudden psychotic behavior was recognized early by herself aswell as those around her. This is so unnessacary, another innocent life taken by the hands of someone who was supposed to be protecting her.

  • i dont think the mother heard of a young beautiful child throwing a little tantrum. its all about growing up and that mother was confused and religious. it is her fault she died and should be punished. but the law decides everything. and that little girl should still be alive today. x

  • FUCK THAT BITCH.

  • i have schizophrenia but i wouldn't dream off doing that to an innocent child ......... its no excuse she knew what she was doing and still did it ......... she killed her own daughter by choice

  • @singpraise247 Fuck you sideways. I have schizophrenia and would be a wonderful mother. We aren't all the same. Just because we have a disorder doesn't mean we're monsters. That's like saying someone with gerschwind syndrome (hypergraphia) or pyromania should be sterilized and put in a zoo. And that people without diagnosed disorders can't do even worse. Think about that before you post something so belittling to my kind. /rant
