Never tell anyone in India that "it is yours 1st time in India" Always lie and say it is your second or third visit. This way they will assume you have local knowledge and experience and wont bother trying to rip you off. Always be polite but firm...after all they are just trying to feed their children! Remember to keep the exchange rate in perspective...would you fight over 30 cents in your own country or bother to pick it up of the ground if you dropped it?
The best way to avoid being ripped off is to ask one or two local people the approx. taxi fare. At least then you have a good idea of how much th eactual price is, so when the driver ask's you 5 times the normal price you can pay the correct amount and just walk away with confidence. I always tip honest and safe drivers. :)
tourists pls when u visit India....have some Indian guy who you can trust with you all the time.....cab drivers and many others will charge you three times the actual price....
lol these bastards rip off everyone in india i hate them they need to be thought a lesson but there are honest guys there is a tarriff card just look at the meter but these assholes take you for a huge round so even it its meter is proper your ripped off
I live in the Vancouver area where thousands of Indian immigrants head for the easiest, non-skilled jobs: driving. Everyday I see so many of them yammering away on their cell phones while trying to control a cab, dump truck or some sort of large commercial vehicle. Most times there is a commercial vehicle fatality, it's an Indo-immigrant that caused it. Commercial vehicle inspection failures are very frequently Indian people. Honestly, I don't think that many care about safety.
Never ever ever trust indian in this earth, they are scam
