Clean background video recorded with Canon EOS 7D + Sigma 10-20mm lens, then exported to an image sequence and imported to boujou 4.1 for tracking and solving. The scene is then exported to 3D Studio Max 9.0, where an imported 3D model of the Skyline, materials, environment, and lighting is set up. Rendering with VRay ...1.5RC5 took about 20 hours, and then the recorded and rendered image sequences all go to After Effects CS3, where it is composited and exported to final video.

  • what layer have you exported and use for compositing?thanks you..

  • @DevilChris06 In 3Dsmax, render the object standing on a plane with the Matte/Shadow material, u will have to play with the settings, and render save as .PNG or anything with alpha channel

in the end the rendered images from 3dsm will be just the object and shadows on a blank background
