The World Boxing Council has named Vitali it's "Fighter Of The Year" for 2011. Since his return to the ring in October of 2008 when Vit won the WBC title he now holds by stopping Sam Peter in eight rounds in Berlin, Germany he has dominated every opponent he has faced. His record of never being behind in a fight continues and since his return he has barely lost a round.

@rikd888 Additionaly, no opponent has ever knocked Vitali off his feet. Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson all have at one time held Vitali's WBC Championship belt but none of them can say this. And yeah, No other heavyweight champion in boxing history has ever been able to say that. If anything Vit is a better fighter now than he was a decade earlier. More see rikd net/wordpress

Vitali halted his training camp for the Adamek fight on Sep 10, 2011 to fly back to Kiev,Ukraine. Vitali said in a statement “After finding out what was happening in Ukraine, I stopped my training camp and returned to Kiev. @dean24uk Tyson's loss to Douglas was engineered by King. The odds were 42:1 against against Douglas. Does anyone realize just how much money could be made by betting against Tyson and then telling him to lose? Or engineering his loss by firing his real trainers, keeping him out of shape and putting Kid and Play in his corner during the fight (And Tyson still almost won: Buster was down for a long count)? I have NO DOUBT that that loss was set up by Don King to make money. NO DOUBT.
