It is said that the power of tai chi is like a whip.
What does this mean? Does it mean that tai chi movements should also be like a whip? I should hope not. That would just be silly.

  • @majorpun I've always found that one explanation can mean many things. More is revealed over time. This is what the taoists mean when they say "when you define it, you lose the true meaning". Language doesn't really do the meaning justice.

  • Ian i must say i LOVE your vids. they are hilariously awesome. Hope the family is doing well. and thank you for posting these clips sharing your vast knowledge & wisdom on taiji

  • Great instructional flicks, Love ya work.

  • Mmm... the importance of the wording!

It seems to me it also is like a whip in that the greatest power must be released at the end, and not before the desired point of impact!

  • Interesting discussion of Fa Jin. Use more waist and less extension, remember, you spine is your axel, your waist is your wheel and power comes from the Dan Tian.

Over extending is less than good. I do love your videos...

Yea I'm the Wu stylist...your videos are a great combination of instruction and humor.

  • Finally I understand!

This is one very important video for me, thanks so much.
