A secret to placing the magnet I found was that depending on which way you flipped the magnet, you can activate either the dock screen or the car home screen.

Its under the duct tape to the right. I placed the magnet in several places along the back of the phone untill I found a point where it consistently triggered the multimedia dock application. My real droid home dock finnaly showed up via fedex. So I am not using this one anymore.
