Bioethicists and religious opponents lob accusations at genetic scientists, saying they are "playing God" or seeking to create "designer babies." If we are not careful, the current push in this country for biometrics -- the use of genetic markers, facial recognition, hand-scanning, fingerprint scanning and eye scanning for identification purposes -- may provide a database for future generations who, ignorant of the past, may be condemned to repeat it. That is just flat out wrong. I think America needs to look back on its past. How could we have possibly allowed for a false science to control people's lives like that. Mendel's experiments were on peas not people. Negative eugenics is such a horrible concept, and hopefully no society is dumb enough to fall for it again.

FYI: -this well done early 'talkie' (ie: -with sound) suspense-filled medical melodrama shows what is believed to be a circa- 1927-29 n.American made Henney Ambulance at: 00:45 & 01:09 & 01:42 & 03:30 and finally saves the day at: 03:56 !! However, is not known for sure if the actual chassis-mfg. may be a Chrysler or Lincoln, -upon which the custom-body (-a 6-door +aft-door) which likely came to the Henney Co. replete w/fenders and the then new artillery-wheels instead of Oak-wood spokes.

i agree, this is a great worrie of mine. i feel they may even take it to new exstreams,and alothough the more informed few will understand but due to the mass stupidity of my genaration it wont be stoppabel, this is not really talked about in puplic schools, i should know i go to one and this is not often brought up it is somewhat toboo'd if it is relavent to a converstion and the topic should be brought up it is not, or when is they hush it,sorry for my spelling, i hav issus at it

An interesting movie about a dark aspect of American history which, perhaps unsurprisingly, isn't widely known of. I fear that in this century there will be a new eugenics movement, although it will probably have a different name to avoid associations with the past.
