yeah, I get that, but I don't since I feel as though no first love happense so smoothly while everyone is practically perfect. Just can't get into it...but I'm happy you like it and hope you always will.

The Twilight series are my favorite books and the reason why is the emotional connection we have to the characters. YES THE WRITING IS SHORT OF MANY THINGS AND the plot isn't very mysterious and epic but that connection to the characters and loving them is the main reason why people love those books. And we all have had our first love and in many ways can relate.

You should have heard the panel at the WorldCon when the corporate editors ragged on Twilight. They were much more harsh than Deborah Beale (who also used to be a corporate editor) was in this panel. I read the Twilight books recently and I'd have to agree that Stephenie does a stupendous job on characterization but does fail in other things. But, hey, Stephenie is still a fairly new author. The books do get better as they progress.
