@feelicks669 -- I had the pleasure of singing for Mac in high school (Cleveland Heights, Ohio) in 1967-68 and 1968-69, and it was a magical time. We went on tour to Bermuda in Spring '69 and sang his haunting, minor-key arrangement of "America the Beautiful" as our rust-bucket cruise ship sailed past the Statue of Liberty. The highlight of my senior year was performing the world premiere of the cantata "Yizkor" (a remembrance of the Holocaust) by Shalom Secunda, with the composer at rehearsal!
I had the honor of studying sightsinging under Dr. McElfresh at Florida International University in Miami. He is a wonderful man and an impeccable musician. It was an honor to sit under his learning tree for a few semesters.
I had the honor of singing this at the 1990 South Florida Superintendent's Choir. Which was directed by the one and only Clair McElfresh, the composer of this beautiful piece. If we only had internet (and youtube) then......
This is absolutely breathtaking!!!! Very nice choral sound. The song was composed by Carol Hall (native of Abilene, TX). She also composed the music for "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas."

I have to disagree with pickle738. The song is meant to be slow. It's like a lullaby to a newborn so it should be more airy and slow paced.
