He officially retired in september of 88

OK, I stretched it a little with the 200 point remark. How is 150 for ya??

@sosdkny Let me be a little more clear for you. Goalies almost never play exclusively stand-up any more. Call it hybrid, butterfly, whatever. It's a lot harder to score on them. Fighting doesn't take players out or give power play time, given that neither player tries beating the other senseless after the fight. It takes whoever was dumb enough to get into it out of the game for a bit. I'm still waiting for an explanation of the "200 point" remark.

Goalies just stand there?? WTF are you talking about. Yeah defenses are a lot more active today playing zone traps. You cant even hit a guy today without being called for roughing. You had more scoring years ago because fighting was legal and everyone was fightin and you had more power player and more open ice. But the only player htat never fought was Bossy and he was always on the ice. Again with the old school new school BS.

@sosdkny 200 a year? LOL. It's a lot harder to score goals now. Goalies don't just stand there, defense is a lot more active. Balance is what it's about now. A few decades ago, it was all scoring. He was a great player, yes. But to say that he would score 200 points a year.. now you seem like the idiot.

Some moron posted a video on youtube stating Bossy as #10 on his greatest forwards list. Idiot!! Some of the posters were writing about how Bossy was not a good passer. Oh really!!
752 GP
573 Goals
553 Assists
not counting the playoffs.
if Bossy played today, he would have 200 points a year!!
Gretzky called the Bossy the greatest right winger ever!! Enough said.

@tommyhendo Isles always did have better scouting than those crosstown ego heads.
-
9 straight 50 goals seasons. Bossy was just as good as Gretzky and Lemieux.
-
Absolutely love that the Rangers had two picks before the Isles in '77...absolutely love it

Bossy is an odd looking guy
He's my favourite hockey player ever, and the Islanders my favourite team. Productions such as these are a little heavy on the treacly, string-heavy music, but it's very easy to get swept up in the pieces on Boss, Denny, Trots and Battlin' Billy. If you're an Isles fan - and sometimes it feels like there're only about 500 of us left - you feel a little heroic at the end of each clip. A real swell of pride, a pump of the fist, a shout of "1940!", and a charge of Tonelli-Nystrom energy. Hell yeah!

not only did he scored 50 goals but he did it 9 straight years and it would've been 10 had he not been injured.
