They had balls at the tiem yes, but their ineptetude was shown in Korea, and again in Somalia. The U.N. wants to delegate roles to everyone. In Somalia for instance the role of Armoured support was delegated to Pakistan, Maylasia, Italy, and one other nation which i forget at the moment. While the Somalian blunder was not entierly the U.N.'s fault, after U.S. forces pulled out (at the verge of victotory) the UN essentially gave up.

The UN had balls during the Korean War & the Gulf War, they actually fought commies and Iraq. Some time after that they lost those balls. UN is mainly a diplomatic establishment, and they do suck at military intervention, but they are good at other things, like humanitarian aid & the World Health Organization. NATO should be the one that goes in when diplomacy fails. Also, NATO doesn't mess around because it's a military alliance, while the UN focuses on diplomacy. I lost respect for the UN.

NATO is a million times better than the UN, hands down. And NATO doesn't treat the US like crap, and would actually help us, unlike the "United" Nations. The idea of the world being united is a load of crap. NATO doesn't stand for peace, it stands for mutual defense and protection. Enough said.

Bullrun65, NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Stands against communism and totalitarianism and defends it's members if they come under attack. Waay better than UN. People can choose to join NATO, but you are already in the UN, no choice, no joke. The UN is a waste of money. The UN doesn't defend countries, they "peacefully resolve the conflict" right after one of the countries is defeated. NATO doesn't mess around. They ACTUALY fight back. Well, I hoped I answered your question.
