Any reason why it's located where it is ? Was this in the hood where Jimi grew up ?

@86lenny I don't have the answer to your question. The statue is located in front of a music store. At least it was a music store last time I stopped there. Jimi is buried in Renton, WA but you probably know that.

Maybe a youtube visitor has the answer to your question.

@doverlinkin - The museum you have in mind is probably the Experience Music Project. Paul Allen, a big fan of Jimi, funded and opened the museum some years ago. Originally it was meant to be dedicated just to Jimi. Over the years it expanded to include the science-fiction section which is another hobby of Paul Allen.

EMP is located at the Seattle Center. To say that this is an impressive building is an understatement. It was designed by Frank Gehry. Enjoy!
