@redmunkee its testing the strength of the blade, not it being sharp! cold steel is advertising that its blades are strong, not sharp. 99% of swords out there will pretty much shatter if you do this with them, so yes it is actually very impressive
truemonster is right. im not saying all of them, but alot of people that go for fencing or buy katanas is because they cant handle the weight of a heavy sword. im 14 and i use the great sword with ease. there is no excuse for anyone else not to be able to effectively use one of these monsters of a sword. =)
im going to buy a greatsword, and they make them because some people dont wanna be a lame ass and go for fencing or kendo, if you dont like it fine, but dont act like nobody should like it because you dont.
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do this if the blade coundn't handle it. These swords range from $700 to as much as $8,000. So I doubt he would subject them to possible damage if there was a chance of ruining them.
