Whiteface Mountain Hike

Most beautiful day in the High Peaks yet. Summits conditions were perfect; no wind, above the clouds, brilliant sunshine keeping us warm, and snow to make everything even more beautiful. I would have to be extremely ungrateful to ask for a better day.

Whiteface is the 5th highest High Peak of the Adirondack Mountains. The summit reaches 4,867 feet, and is the only developed summit of the High Peaks. The "sacrificial lamb" has a weather station on top, as well as several ski trails on the south side and a toll road up on the north side

wow those cloud shots up there are wonderful.No wind ,weren't you guys lucky. did you do any camping? I just realized Iv been watching the wrong videos on you tube and now are searching for my favorite things to do and places Id rather be.

@misticmocha We were extremely lucky! We didn't do any camping, we usually only get to go up for a day. We live an hour and a half south so unfortunately the peaks aren't in our backyard

beautiful there,I skied from the adk lodge to avalanche lake one year only time and as far as I ever went in winter with exception for a mild winter a few years back ,hiked up to slanted rock from keen. But in the summer and fall we go when ever we can get away. happy trails to you guys...adk trails
