Sticking valve? Weak Valve spring? Setting valve adjustment on a Yamaha Virago. Vacuum gauge Swings widely on idle, indicating a valve issue. Compression is 150, valves were slightly loose. Vacuum gauge indicating a weak valve spring or sticking valve. Perhaps the "EGR" is a cause? Update to follow.

  • hey nice! :D where did you find that video manual thingy shown in the video? :)

  • @Ricerguy I just googled "How a vacuum gauge works" and it was on the front page. I doubt if I recorded any link info. But try those words and maybe "Video of>>>>"

  • @IExposeMormonism Thanks I finally found a vaccum gauge and installed it 1.3l 4 cylinder. I was wondering if the needle should be perfectly steady on idle or if it is supposed to flutter like mine does, it flutters around 20inH, very minimal fluttering like the needle is trembling. what could this be?

  • @Ricerguy If it's a small ticking like you see at minute 2:07, I'd say that's normal. I would expect the vacuum number to be higher than 16, as here, but a little tick is ok
