Kwajalein: Airport

On the island of Kwajalein, in the Marshall Islands, you can stand EXTREMELY close to the runway. Full size jets come and go each day. It's so much fun to stand at the tip of the runway and watch a plane almost land on your head!

How did you get permission to film? I was told you could not when I landed there on my way to Chuuk last Feb. I was on a Continental flight.

Jets, no kidding. All I saw was DHC-4 Caribous, my taxi to Meck Island and back every day for 27 months.

Some very interesting flights at night with the rain and wind pushing that plane all over the sky. You just had to trust that God was taking care of business.

Earplugs were standard equipment cuz the Caribous were LOUD!!

Still, some anxious moments.
