it has nothing to do with being asian -_- they are either 1) forced to practice for hours on end by nagging parents or 2) they practice hours on end because they are self-motivated and/or 3) they do not have the social life of many white people and therefore embrace music as an outlet for self-expression; any white person could be just as great; I've seen many extremely talented white pianists, you just have to go see an actual concert for yourself and you'll see what I mean.

It is not fair to stereotype people's race. If a White guy plays the same piece, half the comments wouldn't be posted. People get the parents pushing their kids idea from the Jackie Chan remake of the "Karate Kid".

Practicing for hours? In my high school, I know someone at the top 5%. While many of us spent hours to complete assignments (math & chemistry test, 1000-word essay). He would spend 2h max. He worked smarter, not harder.

Try giving up 1 hour of TV and put into productive use...

Awesomeness. I'm playing this piece too but im have trouble getting my left pinky to play in those sequences on the first page cleanly. Any tips?

@crabbywabbysu I meant kids that would put college level students to shame; sure they might "enjoy it" but seriously, you think they weren't forced by their parents at some point to practice hours on end or do it because they want to be the best? People like you who think everything is aimed at them really irritate me.

I'm referring to young pianists that are exceptionally advanced technique-wise and probably havent been playing for more than 4 or 5 years. Unless you're on the level of the kind of asian kids I'm talking about (like the ones you often see/hear about playing Chopin Etudes, full concertos, etc.) then my comment doesn't apply to you.

@pianoman469 What are you talking about? 1) I am not forced to practice for hours on end by so called nagging parents. I LOVE PLAYING PIANO and that is why I play it, not because my parents force me to... rather, they are only concerned with piano because of the fact that I love playing it. No, I am not brainwashed, and I was not forced to write this either. 2) I do not practice "hours on end" unless you think 2 hours a day is "hours on end" which I"m pretty sure you don't intend it to be.
