We're digging early in the Super Nintendo's life cycle this week to bring you a game that many people didn't play, but the few that did will never forget. ActRaiser may have gotten lost alongside such classics as Super Mario World and Castlevania IV, but it deserves it's place in the pantheon of early SNES greats with its unique mix of action and town simulation stages. Watch Roo's review to see what you may have missed, as well as just how many Mel Brooks jokes he can squeeze in to one review.

  • I suspect that Actraiser 2 is a more overlooked gem than this one

people loved this one because it's got those "RPG elements" and "sim elements" and sentimental story and all

then they trash the sequel cos it doesn't have all that and is merely an awesome action game (which this one is not, though the action segments in it are good enough)

  • @SogekingsRevenge

It's because you where born in the gamecube era.

  • @miamimagicians good choice!

  • I loved the music in ActRaiser it was so gnarly

  • MEGAMAN X4 Zero's intro theme hands down

  • Luigis's mansion was awsome,

  • This game might just have the best stage1 music ever, but not by much. I think I had almost as much of an eargasm while playing Demon's Crest and Castlevania Symphony Of The Night.

  • What about a loss of a limb, will a fiery hailstorm fix that, that's why you have duct tape.

  • that bitch

  • He looks like he's related to that guy in the question mark suit on those late night infomercials.
