  • Hi Garry, That greenhouse is looking great and your ventilation would seem to be adequate. It's hard to regulate the temperature in a greenhouse without automatic window openers etc but I have learned, through experience, how to keep the temperature around 24C. Sometimes that isn't possible so it's a case of open everything and water well. Over time you'll work out what works for you. On days when temps change rapidly my wife says you'd think I had a rubber rope tied to me.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • @baconsoda I know what you mean about the rubber rope, I am running down checking the temperature every few hours and my wife wants to know when I plan to move in there. best garry

  • Is it water tight with the timber on the roof on the inside?

I'd be tempted to put a little solar panel on it and a fan to circulate the air a bit.

  • @RelyOnYourselfTV yes its water tight,I was thinking exactly the same thing with a fan and solar panel, but the ventilation seems to work, it was 35 in the shade here today and it only went up to 39 in the greenhouse best garry

  • @garryentropy should be OK for peppers and chillies etc, But you'd kill lettuce or anything green at that temperature I'd say.

  • @RelyOnYourselfTV only time wil tell, its an experiment so I will have to see what happens

  • That's a great looking greenhouse, looks futuristic!

  • @garryentropy OOPS, the first comment didn't appear so I typed another. The wonders of YouTube.

  • That is looking well and your ventilation seems adequate. I try to keep my greenhouse around 24C but, on some days it's a case of opening everything and watering well. Over time I have learned how to keep the temp where I want it and you will too. On days when the temp is up and down my wife says you'd think I had an elastic rope tying me to the greenhouse.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • this garden food is perfect for the next Grill party
