The line sensor for my R/C car which is supposed to compete in a line following competition is now functioning correctly. Still it uses a simple control algorithm with preset servo positions for each of the four light sensors on the line sensor board

It works by having 3 infrared LEDs lighting up underneath the circuit board and then having 4 infrared photo diodes measuring how much light is reflected back and choosing the one where the least light is reflected back (for detecting dark areas like the black cable I'm swinging). Then the steering servo is set to the position related to that photo diode.
