My sterling silver turned completely white from the residue...how do I get rid of the white residue?

FYI - Finding Boric Acid and Denatured Alcohol may not be so easy. But, to save you time I just found it. The boric acid is found at Walgreens as Roach Killer so don't be confused and the denatured alcohol was found at Home Depot in the paint department. Good luck!

Hi there, I am just learning to solder. I just got my kit. So do you use boric acid on everything or just sterling? I am hoping I understand right, that it's not required, but important not to burn and time saver?
