Ferrari's Formula 1 team may have suffered an unaccustomed season which saw it finish outside the top three this year although, with a brand-new line-up, Stefano Domenicali has every confidence that 2010 can be a positive story.
Slick tires have a larger area of contact and therefore a better grip; there will be many overtakings.
Also, this means that slower cars can overtake faster cars which make mistakes.... I think there's a lot to look forward to.
Don't forget that we're starting to slowly ricover from the recession and this is the time to make money and capitalize on the market; that's why Mercedes is back in Formula 1; it's good advertising and image building for them.
Let's not forget that there's no refuelling in 2010 so the cars are completely different in concept; it's a fresh start and that's also one of the reasons why Schumacher has come back this year. He clearly has an advantage with the slick tires; that's the same tires as in the 80's.
There are many contenders in the 2010 season; all of them much more talented than Massa
I understand your point though but, I wouldn't bet on Massa nor Hamilton. However, again lol, it's too early to say; let's see what the first tests show and most importantly, let's see what the first two or even three races show.....
I know...but in 2007 they because they were still benefiting from the Brawn - Schumacher - Todt effect at Ferrari, which clearly started to fade away last year. Now it's up to the new team to keep that level of competition once established in the Schumacher-Brawn -Todt era and keep evolving.
About 2010... I don't believe in Massa..never did, he's very lucky to be in Ferrari; Jarno Trulli for example is a much, much better driver than Massa....
@TechnoKid79 He mostly left in 2007 and the atmosphere was...still good indeed they immediately won ;-) ...i don't think that's gonna be neither Alonso year... nor Schumacher year. I bet more on Hamilton and Massa.
ferrari without schumacher from 2010; I wonder how the atmosphere is.. It has to be total confusion, since Michael and Ross made Ferrari F1 what it is right now.
Will the new kids running the prancing horse live up to the expectation?
addendum...Now with Alonso on board Ferrari will get a lot of money again and is in the position again to compete at a high level.
