This is yet another tribute to one of my favourite dinosaurs. The song, "Path Vol. 2" by Apocalyptica, was originally going to be in my Parasaurolophus tribute, but when I listened to it, I knew it had to be in a Suchomimus tribute.

Here's a great article I found on plastic.com:

"Looks like the only reason T. rex & co. get preferential treatment on the dino hierarchy is because of their privileged western origins. Long deemed 'Rex' (or king) the Tyrannosaurus is actually a scavenging wuss with tiny girly arms that would likely have sand kicked in its dino face by the monstrous Suchomimus. A native of Niger, Suchomimus's huge razor sharp claws were attached to the largest biceps of any creature that ever lived. Scientists speculate that a meeting between the two would result in T. rex's wetting himself and running home with his yankee tail between his legs.

So why have dinos like T. rex, Triceratops and Brontosaurus (properly, Apatosaurus, but try telling that to the Americasaurs) long dominated the world's imagination? Because of their western origins T. rex and the like have, until recently, been treated to more complete archaeological treatments and promotion. For example, Barnum Brown's 1905 discovery of T. rex was a half-science half-showbiz dog and pony show that worked its way into history. How long will international dinosaurs, by rights the greatest of the giant lizards, languish in obscurity while America's imperialist dino-cultralism is force fed to the unwitting peoples of the world?"

I couldn't agree more. It's an outrage.

  • in truth neither spino or t rex lived at the same time also spinosaurus ate ish also as both predators are so big neither would really fight jp3 went abit over the top ad their would be alot more sizing up/ avoiding conflict if possible and the t rex's bite at the start of the fight would have killed the spio easily so jp3 let every one dow in that opinion.

  • 15 people are eaten by a suchomimus

    ;D

  • no one kills spino

  • I have red in several Dinosaur Encyclopedias that the Tyranno was rly a scavenger... The paleontologyst says that even his strong bite, T-Rex wasn't one of the fastest dinosaurs, so it's been hard for him to catch-a-living animal ...

  • all animals are scavengers in there own way you know that

  • YOU CAN TELL BY THE SKULL AND THE BACK SOME OF THEM ARE FEMALES AND NOT THAT MUCH ARE MALES YOU CAN TELL BY THE SPIN

  • THERE SPINOSAURUS

  • no offence to any rex fans but I think spino is a really cool dinosaur to

  • @pokesaurus12 U know that article in the description on how t-rex has been blown out of perportion by the public? Spino got its spot in fame BECAUSE of a movie. Plus, u dont even know how big it really was! 7 bones and a few fragments is not going to tell u how big it was. T-rex was both a Predator and a Scavenger, almost every carnivore is. Besides, idc HOW strong sucho's arms are, T-rex's Bite woulf Crush anything short of an ankylosaurus.

  • One thing You Rex fans seem to ignore. If Spinosaurus was only meant to eat fish, then what factor would make Spinosaurus to evolve to such a size. I mean there were plenty of small fish am I right. So honestly, if It only ate fish, it wouldn't have grown so tall and long in the first place.

  • there should be a trilogy on The Discovery Channel about the spinosaurids. episode 1 would focus on a young male baryonyx living on his own and struggling to keep a new territory. episode 2 would be focusing about a female suchomimus raising her chicks and dealing with other carnivores as well as sarcosuchus. episode 3 would have a spinosaurus! an old male spino would deal with losing his turf to a younger male and forced to find a new one... will he survive!? i think its a good idea
