Thanks! I got really hooked on the sound of Gibsons in the early 1990s when Greg Rich helped the company to try and get back to their pre-WW II standards. I had the Stelling through about 1994 and used it for a while when I was playing with Dry Branch Fire Squad. Eric Gibson, of the Gibson Brothers, purchased it from me - I'm not sure where the banjo is now! This happens!

It's my Granada but this was recorded directly to an iPhone4, so the quality isn't the greatest. @marredsun - I'm not sure what you're talking about in regard to the left hand rhythm but whenever we slow things down to this extent, it's going to sound a little unnatural or stilted. Check out Earl Scruggs' version from his classic "Foggy Mountain Banjo" album for the real thing!

I remember when you used to play a stelling banjo. I loved that banjo it sounded so clean and powerful without a bunch of ringy overtones. Do you still own it?
