Threads is a 1984 BBC television play depicting the effects of a nuclear war on the United Kingdom and its aftermath. Written by Barry Hines and directed by Mick Jackson, Threads was filmed in late 1983 and early 1984. The premise of Threads was to hypothesise the effects of a nuclear war on the United Kingdom after an exchange between the Soviet Union and the United States escalates to include the UK.

I veiw nuclear war as having always been quaranteed and MORE likel in the 21st century... but I don't think it will be a massive exchange of 20,000 nukes. More likely sever hundred exchanged each way between the US/NATO countries and the Russian/Chinese alliance, a hundred or on the Indian sub-Contintent and a few dozen in the mideast.

very bemused by some recent comments here...Brits vs Yanks, Israel vs. Iran, WTF? am am more in agreement with MrBlazeyb, I grew up during the Cuban missile crisis, now it's North Korea or Iran.., wtf to do with transatlantic kerffufle and the 2000 yr old conflict of Middle East ? I still have nightmares from the early 60s..

i remember having nightmares about nuclear war in the 70's/80's when i was a kid. The world hasnt half changed. I was a real worry that war would break out,and when the Falklands was on we seemed a step closer to nuclear war

I just can't dtop this movie from buffering. I don't have problems with anything else. I have a two year old Samsung tablet that works very well. It's a mystery. I suppose I'll have to buy or rent the DVD.
