Okay, it's been about 6-8 months since I made a bass video, but I finally got around to it. For the "theme" of this video, instead of being dedicated to any bass singers like my first 2, most of the notes featured here are from some of the songs I love to listen to. And like the first 2 videos I made, credit is given in the videos where it is due. Enjoy!

1. Country legend Garth Brooks sings his lowest note, an E2, from the song Friends in Low Places.
2. James "Big Chief" Wetherington of the Statesmen sings a great sustained C2 in the classic hymn, How Great Thou Art.
3. Here, Tim Duncan sings a C2 at the National Quartet Convention with Ernie Haase and Signature Sound during the song Stand by Me.
4. Here's an old Tim Riley low note. It's from Gold City's 1987 recording of Movin' up. Tim hits several B1's here.
5. Here is Calvin Thompson (current Gospel Harmony Boys bass) singing a sustained Bb1 at the end of Battle Hymn of the Republic.
6. This clip features Isaac Freeman with the Fairfield Four. The song is Roll Jordan and the note is a Bb1. He then bends up to about a C2 halfway through the note.
7. Here's former Gold City bass Aaron McCune with a sustained A1 from the catchy song, When Jesus Saves.
8. This is another from Calvin Thompson. Here, he sings a subtle A1 on the word "climb". The song is another version of Movin' up.
9. Here's an A1by Eric Bennett from the Triumphant Quartet's newest album. The song is God's Home.
10. Richard Sterban of the Oak Ridge Boys sings an A1 at the end of The Christmas Song.
11. Here's some of Big Chief's lowest. He sings a few Ab1's in the song When my soul takes flight.
12. This is a nice sustained Ab1 from George Younce at the end of the song Master Builder. This one is from the late 80's.
13. Here's another bass singer that I feel doesn't get the attention he deserves. He's Burman Porter, and he was formerly with The Palmetto State Quartet. He sings 2 great Ab1's here during their song Reach for the sky.
14. This is one of my favorite Gold City songs! This is them singing In time, on time, every time in 2000. In the middle of the chorus after the second key change, Tim Riley gets down and hits a bunch of VERY strong Ab1's. Awesome!
15. Remember Will Adkins of the Gospel Harmony Boys? Well this is him singing with them very recently. He sings some great low ones, including a G1, during their song The Best is yet to come.
16. Here's London Parris sustaining a GREAT G1 during the lowest key of Rainbow of Love with the Rebel's Quartet. And according to him in this clip, that's likely his lowest note.
17. And here's Gold City's recent performance of Rainbow of Love. This one is a rafter shaker so don't turn your subwoofer up too high, lol. The note is a G1 by Tim Riley.
18. This is Aaron McCune sliding down to a quick G1 in the song I'm Rich. This is live at the National Quartet Convention a few years back.
19. And here's another G1 by Aaron. This is from the song By Your Grace, for Your Glory.
20. This is one of Richard Sterban's G1's, and it's a good one. It's from the Oak Ridge Boys' song, Gonna take a lot of river. Nice G1!
21. And here's yet another G1 from Mike Holcomb of the Inspirations Quartet. The song is I'll have a new life. Actually, there are several G1's here.
22. I haven't seen this in any other bass videos, so I had to put it in mine! It's from the song O what a Savior, and the note is a sustained mixed voice F#1.
23. And here's the lowest note I've heard from Burman Porter so far. It's a full voice F#1 at the end of the song, The land of the free.
24. And here's one more F#1. It's from Eric Bennett, and the song is Giver, Creator, Savior. Seems to be frying it but it still sounds fine.
25. Mike Holcomb takes us down another half step to the F1. The song is Overwhelming Joy live at the NQC with the Inspirations.
26. This is an E1 by both Eric Bennett and Tim Riley. Eric is frying it, and Tim is in full voice (Tim himself even told me so). The song is Everyday.
27. A bass video isn't a bass video without J.D. Sumner! This is his version of Old Man River. He sustains an Eb1 at the end.
28. This is one of Eric Bennett's lowest. It seems to be fried, though. It's an Eb1 at the end of I love to call. This one is live with the Kingdom Heirs.
29. Here's Mike Holcomb with a sustained Eb1 during the song, He made a way.
30. Here is Steve Cross and he sings with Rescue Quartet. This is a C#1 during the song How Great is our God.
31. J.D. was recognized for frying a C1 during Blessed Assurance, but this is what he should've been known for! It's a full voice (!) drop to around a G0 or so (according to posts I read on thebassmanadam's video I got this from). This one's a room shaker!

  • That's not Burman Porter. That guy can't hit a low note worth a flip. It was Aaron McCune that used to sing with Palmetto State Quartet. The guy you mistakenly call Mr. Porter is actually Larry Strickland. I know so because I have the CD's. :)

  • @JoshNC77 Do you have the Thank God for a Song CD? That's the CD both the Burman Porter clips here are from. It's definitely Burman Porter on the cover. Larry Strickland came into the lineup later (when he became the manager of PSQ, I believe). As for Aaron, he sang on the Sweet Land of Rest and When it pours, God reigns CDs. Go to amazon.com and type in "Palmetto State Quartet Thank God for a song" and you'll see it's clearly Burman Porter on the cover.

  • @GamingDrummer89 Burman is the one sitting at the lowest point on the staircase on the cover picture of that CD.

  • i just found out the other day when i had my voice lessons that my lowest note in full voice is a G0.....is that JD's lowest note as well?

  • @bigal20992 G0!!!!????? Do you mean the first G off the bottom of the piano or is it the last G on the piano? If it's off the piano it's G0, but the last one on the piano is G1. I'm just wondering because going to G1 in full voice is very rare. But G0 is almost unheard of. I'm not disbelieving in what you say, but I'm just making sure of which note you're talking about because of how rare it is to hit either of those notes without vocal fry. And yes, JD hit a G0, and it doesn't seem to be fry.

  • @GamingDrummer89 Well im not sure but it's the G below C1......thats G0 isnt it?

  • @bigal20992 Yep it is. If you're not exaggerating about your ability that's ridiculously low.

  • @bigal20992 JD SUMNER NEVER EVER HIT A GO HIS LOWEST EVER RECORDED WAS A DOUDLE LOW C AND IF YOU ARE SAYING THAT YOU CAN HIT A G OFF THE PIANO I HAVE TO GET SOME MONEY BECAUSE I DONT BELIEVE IT AND ALSO IF ITS OFF THE PIANO HOW WOULD YOU KNOW WHAT KEY... JUST SAYING I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR IT IF YOU CAN...

  • My grandma walked in while I was at one of the Aaron McCune parts, and she said, "Who's that handsome devil?"

  • @bigal20992 Actually, that would be G1. G0 is below C0. G0 is 3 full steps below C0. I'm sure there is very few people on this whole planet that can hit that, non fry. I can get to a "real E1 or D1 if it's a good day in my "real", not fry, voice.

  • @GamingDrummer89 And also I'm only 19 so this is so cool

  • @GamingDrummer89 So then i have a voice as low as JD Sumner's voice? That's so cool.....thanks for tellin me
