ReMix Title: Life in the Shaft Lane

A much better version of the Mining Melancholy / Kannon's Klaim ReMix I uploaded a few days ago. Extended by about 2 minutes, lots of original riffs added, more Life in the Mines, and some of Donkey Kong Rescued. And the industrialish drum beat is gone too.
Hope you all enjoy, I worked hard on this.

EDIT: Submitted to Overclocked ReMix! It'll be another 1-3 months until I found out what happens to it though.

  • towards 3:00 I feel like its the mine in Donkey kong country 1 music

  • @TNRLovesToDance It is. : )

  • Hey man, have you resubmitted recently? (to OCR, that is) This holds the top spot in my music folder, and it'd be a shame not to have it end up on there, with the recognition it deserves..

  • @bendario Thanks! =) I don't think I have the production skills necessary to get this past the OCR judges yet but once I've learnt a bit more I'm going to redo this and try again. I'm going to try and get a guitarist to play the guitar bits as well, and maybe record some live piano. Same goes for the Life in the Mines remix. ;)

  • Sorry for the dumbness, but, where's the dowload link in Newgrounds? I can't find it in the link you posted... XD

  • No problem. There should be an orange box with disc in it under "Licensing Agreements."

  • Personally, along with being one the best remixes of Mining Melancholy I think this is also one the best remixes of Life In The Mines I've ever heard. Also, the part starting at 4:10 blows my mind its so damn good.

  • @SockpuppetRemix They're elitists over there anyway. I've heard some good stuff at OCR, but it befuddles me how some garbage gets by over there.

  • @partition00 Mining Melancholy = one of the best songs to grace the SNES period

  • Just wanted to say that you've really outdone yourself this time, Sockpuppet.

I've heard several of your remixes now, and this is one of your best. Well done.

  • While this is good, something was bugging me a bit. I couldn't place my finger on it but now I realize the "problem"--it's too upbeat. It would be excellent followup in a situation where you come back to the level and rescue some people but it doesn't seem "melancholy" as is. Still good though.

  • not a bad remix dude

    a def on OCR

im on there a lot and this needs to be on there

  • this remix is perfection.. i nearly cried :'(

  • it annoys me every remix/remake of this song doesent incorporate my fave bit ov this song the main drumbeat at the start of the song its not there why?????? even if they cant remake the sound of the lead drum at least just get an audio snippet from the original sond and edit the soound file in

  • @IReekofEbil so then look into ROMs and Zsnes - You can then play it on your pc.

  • Melancholy? You mean Rock right? oohhh yeahhh XD
