Tourists visit Orissa for its temples and tribal markets. The Ducumbh Market, held on Tuesday's only, was only a "warm-up." The best were yet to come.

It was time to buy bangles. What would a visit to India be without bangles, a set of 12 for 20 Rupees, about 50 cents. They break easily and I always marvel how the Indian women work in the fields, wash clothes and carry heavy loads wearing bangles. Especially when the average family income is only $600 U.S. a year. Bangles are a huge investment even at 20 Rupees and they are usually replaced once a year. What price looking good....even though impoverished
