This is another fast Romanian dance. i first heard this song in Hein Krammer's great piano arrangement. He is a Dutch amateur musician who loves Hungarian and Romanian music and learnt both languages to be able to make some travels and listen to gypsy musicians there. My instrumental version is vaguely based on his transcription. On his website ( http://www.krammer.demon.nl/indexEn.html ) you can find many more piano transcriptions by him.

Again any opinions and suggestions are welcome.

the musicians are: Carl Testa on electric bass, Christopher (Isto) White on acoustic guitar, Ben Steinberg on euphonium, Garrick Zoeter and myself on clarinets.

  • this is not and never romanian style sounds jewish , or klezmer but is not romanian this playing is so far from romanian like the moon from the earth

  • very eloquently put mate :) - we have touched upon this issue earlier, if you were upset enough to comment you could have read some of the previous ones too.

but to reiterate: i have never claimed that this is romanian style - the tune itself is from romania. i am not a romanian or roma musician, never been there, never had a chance to learn from a local musician. so i play in my own style (ie, not romanian or klezmer).

All the best from the Moon! :)
