In an effort to differentiate Animal Planet from the rest of the herd, this rebranding package uses bold colors and graphical forms to snare the viewer's attention. Animals are represented as cubes characterized by their essences—the patterns of their fur, their idiosyncratic movements. A bee, for instance, is a yellow and black striped box that hovers curiously before a swarm of its relatives overtakes the screen.
Similarly, the Animal Planet logo was updated by stripping it down to its barest essentials. Lower thirds and other broadcast elements employ deconstructed cubes to reinforce the sophisticated yet whimsical minimalism of the revamped logo. The end product is high-impact and startlingly unique.
