Best Sapper Competition 2010.wmv

The 2010 Best Sapper Competition took place in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, from 19 to 21 April. 29 teams came from all over the world to compete for the title (Iraq, Germany, Hawaii, Alaska, etc). As seen in the video, the teams were pushed far beyond their physical and mental limits for over 52 straight hours. Every engineer in our military should aspire to compete in this competition and earn the right to be called the Best Sapper. Sappers Clear the Way!

There are no Sappers in the U.S. Army Special Operations Command or U.S. Special Operations Command. For the Army, the Special Operations Experts that need anything demolished, cleared, or built are the 18C (Special Operations Engineer) ~ Army Special Forces. I doubt the Sapper Course is in the same league as the 18C Course. However, Sappers are definitely the elite in their respective CMF.

@JuErLe359 Rangers who's expertise are demolitions. All types from improvised to airfield denial to breaching charges. You name it Sappers Leaders can do it.

Foolish question. But are sappers pretty much rangers with explosives? Or a mix of rangers and EOD?

WOW!!! I competed in The Best Sapper Competition in May 2007, and I must say it looks like it has greatly improved!! Good Job Sappers!!
