I like that the Monarch is almost fully user serviceable - you can discharge/recharge the air chamber yourself instead of shipping it out to have that part done. It is also one of the still very few shocks available in 184x44mm (7.24x1.73) size. Two thumbs up, SRAM.
You know what I wish you guys would do next though? Give us hubs with Center Lock. [wink] I can guess on why you wouldn't but I like Center Locks disc mounts.

Where can I find a table depth of IFP?? thanks!
-
my monarch is not doingn anything do i have to turn something on ,or what
-
Guys, could you please explain how to measure and set proper IFP height during reassembly?
-
i can do the same procedure to a 2007 MC 3.1? it has oil loss and has a freaking sound right now =/

Does a IFP depth and IFP pressure the same in new Bar 2.1 shocks as Monarch?

@SRAMtech Nitrogen in shocks is used instead of air because is dry and cheap. Water vapor in air change behavior of shock in non-linear way with temperature change. Also we don't really know how much water vapor we charge to reservoir because humidity is instable. So we want to charge a shock with any dry inert gas and it will behave in predictable way (in practice more linear in F(x) graph where F is force and x is displacement). So when the shock is hot shock will be more progressive.
is it a bad idea to use air instead of nitgroen

@Lunarlaserranging Air is fine. The Earth's atmosphere consists of roughly 78.08% nitrogen (Wiki). So, while nitrogen may be "better," air is sufficient for nearly everyone.
