@SuperGamer87 absolutely correct! I love the verse to this song too! Billie's version is my favorite. She just had a way that was so conversational, jazzy, empathetic, and cool to the nth degree. I believe that 200 or 300 years from now we will still be listening to these amazing recording of "Lady Day". Thanks for the post:)

Possibly THE best jazz lyricist.... sorry Sarah. Janis Joplin studied her style. Those growing up on and in techno land -- have missed out on absolute purity. and by the way, I'm a late 60's high school kid. 8-)
