I like to use the GFS for the larger scale patterns, as it is a global model. When we get closer to the event itself, severe or winter, I start considering the NAM/WRF and RUC more-so, as they are mesoscale models and higher resolution. The RUC is *really* short term, only going out to twelve hours.
As far as the event ~10th, it looks good right now, but I don't have that high confidence for it justtt yet. What is your location, btw?
is the RUC more accurate for short term scenarios or are the other models such as the GFS and NAM just as good? Also, what do you think about the possibility of snow on feb. 8th? The GFS showed a large area of precip and below freezing temps
@theyardsaleguy
oh okay. was just wondering so I know when you are asking about storms, haha.
