Parents Birthday Cake (9th Fondant Cake)

My parents combined birthday cake. I had planned on making 2 cakes but ran out of time so combined the 2 designs I came up with & this was the end result ! I made all the decorations but the candles are real.

What do you use under the fondant? I love your cakes and the colours you use. i have just started the hobby of cake dec and am designing a cake for the dedication of my granddaughter Amelia Grace.

@2008grannyjan Oh your granddaughter is very lucky to have such a special granmother that bakes & decorates cakes for her ; ) I used marzipan under the fondant for the round cake. The heart & star cakes are just covered in fondant. I also use swiss merange buttercream for a lot of my other cakes.
