Awesome live recording of Crow during Dan's Solo Acoustic Tour - Kansas City - 12-18-83.
From Dan's Captured Angel LP 1975

Lyrics:
Somewhere on a lonely muddy country road
I heard your song, crow, for the first time
Somewhere in the distance wicked, black and low
Made me feel as I was running from a crime
Made me feel as I was running from a crime

Some say she died of drowning in the river deep
Some say she died of a sudden start
Some say they found her swinging from my old man's tree
And some folks say she died of a broken heart
And some folks say she died of a broken heart

I can't believe they would pay men just to hunt me down
But silver coins to each one do they give
And by now there's a gallows standing in the town
And I wonder how much more I have to live
And I wonder how much more I have to live

Somewhere on a lonely muddy country road
I heard your song, crow, for the last time
Somewhere in the distance wicked, black and low
Made me feel as I was running from a crime
Made me feel as I was running from a crime
Made me feel as I was running...from a crime

  • Very cool video, fits nicely. Still, and on and on, hard to believe Dan's not recording somewhere. Still, and wonderfully his music fills me, gives us peace.

  • I am sorry for your loss, My brother was 28 when he was murdered so I totally understand! Peace to you!

  • @sherbella1 Good for you to try to live again. My brother and best friend was murdered at the age of 22 , 30 years ago.It was hard to go on,but that is what they would want us to do .Peace to you and I am very sorry for your loss.

  • I Love him and yet he lives on in his music and glad i am that he does otherwise I would be lost! I died of a broken heart when he died and there have been others, my brother Terry , Billy, Falco, Nirvana, Jimmie spheeris, and me! I died when my brother did but am trying to live again but its hard cause he was my best friend tryin to move forward dont know how my mother and daughter give me reasons now

  • Dan's pure voice shines through on this excellent performance. Amazing that one man could write and record so many classics and get so little recognition.

He made my life richer with his music and I shall be eternally grateful. God bless Dan.

  • Thinking and missing Dan on this day. Looked at my framed copy of his birthday announcement this a.m. and could only smile and give thanks for the legacy of music he left us.

  • The magic just seemed to roll of his fingers and linger on his every breath. The sadness still continues...what an incredible loss.

  • Was it really six months since this was posted? Now all these user names look a lot more familiar...

  • Thank you for posting this. Beautiful images set to an amazing live performance.
