Children and adults in Mugunga displacement camp near Goma, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) describe what their hopes are for 2009. The Mugunga camp hosts close to 25,000 displaced people. Recent fighting in eastern DRC has affected more than 250,000 people, adding to the 1.4 million who were already displaced by the decade-long conflict.

Home is always the best!!! In Congo people are suffering, war every year, guns everyday, I bet a 12 year old Congolese knows how to use a gun. They life is in a hold, their dreams are running faster than them cause of war. Peace is what they need, and with the help of God, it will happen.
People donate 10000000000000 of dollars to peaceful countries, we are not asking for money, peace is what we need.

Notice, all they are asking for is peace and to be able to go home...to be able to work and support their families. We need to think of these people this holiday season as we write Christmas lists consisting of ipones and laptops and diamond necklaces.
