This short film is a test of the Nikon D7000s video shooting abilities. Thanks to Chase Jarvis for the inspiration.

The subject matter, Michaela from Puff 'N Squeak Custom Baby Blankets making one of her signature blankets, was chosen primarily to see whether this camera has significant issues with moire and aliasing. I am very satisfied with the results. There is no aliasing that I can see and moire was minimal.

This camera exhibits no stuck pixels.

Michaela's studio has a lot of natural light coming in so I used various Lowel tungsten lights, gelled to match the window light, as fill.

The opening sketching sequence was shot at ISO 400, the rest of the film is at ISO 200.

The closing stills of some of her other blankets were also shot with the D7000 and were lit by Hensel Strobes.

The footage is shown here in its raw state, no grading or other color correcting has been done.

Camera: Nikon D7000

Lenses: AF Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 AF Nikkor 12-24 f4 AF Nikkor 28-70 f2.8 Kenco extension tubes

Lights: Various Lowel tungsten Hensel strobes

Other: Kessler Pocket Dolly Manfrotto tripods and heads

Edited on FCP 6.0

I hope you enjoy watching. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
