This is superlative. Completely in character because recorded from her stage performance. Vocally and emotionally moving and flawless. Underplayed, really. Enormously affecting. My favorite of all the stage versions, including Dame Dench's.
Streisand's version, with those somewhat disconcerting added lyrics (they work, but not for "purists"), is still the most emotionally rewarding and vocally unique version, for me.
And Judy Collins' original "pop" release the purest, simplest and intimate.
