Just a few short clips of my first attempt at field day outside of a club effort. My co-pilot and partner in this project was Ken VE3MNY. We operated one band only 40 meters and in the 1 B class. The rig was an Elecraft K3 powered by an emergency propane LPG gas generator. We used less then a full 30 LB propane tank for the full 24 hours. The antenna was a 40 meter inverted V with an apex of about 30 feet into the trees. The orientation was North South which left us deaf East/West. Over all we had a great time and learning experience we both pulled in excess of a 24 hour shift and were suffering the effects early Sunday morning. However, we managed to get in excess of 700 Qs. Looking forward to next years event. For details on setting up in the field and our next planned field day station please visit www.portableqrp.com http://www.portableqrp.com/

I find your comment curious as you have NO IDEA how well I did... As a matter of fact I am sure I did WAY better then you imagine you could have done from your arm chair.... Cheer up and don't be such a downer!
Thanks for watching none the less.
