Jan Peerce sings "A din toire mit Gott" ("A plea to God") by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak. This is from his 1952 album "Jan Peerce sings Hebrew Melodies" (which was re-recorded in 1960 in stereo) with Warner Bass and Hugo Winterhalter conducting the RCA Victor Orchestra.
Love these jewish relegious songs

Wonderful recording. . . should be noted to those who aren't aware - that the language being sung is Yiddish. Yiddish is a combination of a lot of German and quite a bit of Hebrew. This piece is a wonderful combination of art song with some "chazzanut" thrown in. Five stars!

Blessed are You, Ribbono shel olam (Master of the universe), who created such a voice.

The great Jan Peerce in his glorious prime singing a great song that he very often either programmed or sang as an encore in his recitals. The voice sounds better than in the stereo version to me due to RCA not Jan Peerce. BRAVO
