Yes, I've had quite a few of the Columbia blue wax records that were later issues of previous black label issues so I could compare. Black always wins. But they are beautiful.
I agree, the early Columbia's up to around 1931 did sound better than the Victors. They also sound better than the blue wax issues pressed during the death throws of Columbia in the mid thirties
