An excerpt from King Schools' "Practical Risk Management for Weather" course. Click here to purchase http://tinyurl.com/7tca224

Weather-related accidents cause, by far, the highest level of fatalities in general aviation. That's because weather flying, VFR or IFR, places the greatest demands on a pilot. More than any other risk factor in flight, changing weather frequently requires proactive, rather than reactive, risk management.

What this course covers is managing the risks associated with weather and its constantly changing reality. It's about understanding your options...and recognizing then quickly so you can make the right decisions in a timely manner.

  • hahahaha i cant belive it, thats a Private Pilot's most feared moment. Vis 1RA, with a 900' Ceilling OVERCAST and landing at runway 27 with winds from 350 at 18 and gusting to 25 ! and on top of that, not enought fuel to divert..... x_x

  • In good weather or bad, we expect to travel where we want, when we want. But nature isn't always so accommodating. If she's in a fickle mood she can surprise us with a sudden change in the weather. This invisible and mysterious force is the lifeblood of flight...it can also be the death of an aircraft.
