8-9 L modern cars with catalitic converters are much much more effeciant, and produce way way way less emmissions than the 4-7L cars of the 70's so True we need to protect the environment, even a modern blown 426 WITH a catalitic converter is not really that bad when comparred to a carborated 318 of the 70's, so why not allow the 426?
The true footprint of a prias is actually worse when you truely consider all the impact to makign the battery, etc.
@BigGrazP71 The srt-8 is a lot more expensive than the r/t was back when Dodge ruled the road in the 70's and there is a market for them. The reason the 426 isnt the production car has nothing to do with engine cost, its mpg and emmissions. Simple as that. In fact Mopar had a 426 running the car shows, but its not street legal.
@n9iagalbert Very true, but at this point in time all the reasons why the things are the way they are is cause of the dollar signs. Cars were cheap back then.
The 426 should be standard on the R/T and this is how the srt-8 should come from the factory. Anyone remember when Ford and Chevy couldnt catch the HEMI? Now it takes an srt-8 to match the standard v8 Mustang.
I do prefere my R/T over SS or GT, for other reasons though.
Very nice...who's building this car? Thats a crate Hemi or 392? It appears its been dropped into and RT not an SRT? Except the underhood tage says 6.4....interesting custom...any contact info or a website?
