Robert Caruso - Eye Candy clip, from the album Revelation (released October 2011) which can be listened to on digital radio Last.fm on-line and for free.
With footage of Candy Darling (1944 - 1974) transsexual actress and model, star of Andy Warhol's Factory and of his underground films. She also appeared in films like Mario Monicelli's La Mortadella (Lady Liberty in English) and Klute with Donald Sutherland. Tennessee Williams thought she was a great actress, and once cast her in one of his plays. She died in a sanatorium of leukemia, aged 29, in 1974. Her funeral was attended by thousands in her native New York where she was born James Slattery. The Velvet Underground's Candy Says is about her, she's also mentioned in Lou Reed's Walk On The Wild Side and The Rolling Stones' Citadel. Apparently she inspired The Kinks' Lola too.
EYE CANDY
Just a sight for sore eyes,
one you can't quite believe your eyes,
like something from above
guaranteed to make you think of love.
Can tell from afar
that you are
eye candy.
The way you walk, the way you talk,
is it any wonder that you got stalked?
Black leather, silk and lace
and make-up on your pretty face.
Can tell right from here
as soon as you appear:
eye candy.
And when you walk around
they stare you down,
all over town,
'cause when they see you
it makes them feel alright!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Just a sight for sore eyes,
one you can't quite believe your eyes,
like something from above
guaranteed to make you think of love.
Can tell from afar
that you are
eye candy,
eye candy,
eye candy.
